What is a nubbin?

A nubbin is a small, stunted or undeveloped growth on a plant, animal, or person. It is often found in corn cobs where a kernel did not fully develop, resulting in a small, underdeveloped bump on the cob. Nubbins can also refer to small, malformed limbs or structures on animals, or small, underdeveloped body parts on humans. In some cases, nubbins can be a result of genetic abnormalities or developmental issues.
